New studio background

Happy Easter people! I hope you’ve all had a lovely few days off work with family and friends. In the UK (where I’m from) this weekend is a popular DIY (do it yourself) weekend and that’s what I’ve been up to with my family! There was a trip to Ikea to buy a tall narrow set of draws with a mirror in the lid. Before we had children I had my very own dressing room in our little house and I loved it! A place to fix my hair and makeup with everything to hand. Since children though my things have been scattered around the house in a drawer or cupboard here and there and somehow my jewelry just stays in the box, hair straighteners were forgotten and makeup has turned into a quick swish of mascara in the hall mirror, eyeliner if I have time. I’m sure all the mums reading recognise this! It’s just pittful. But now, once again I have my very own place for all my girly things and I’m a happy lady looking forward to 10 minutes per day when I can take care of myself and do the things women like to do! So, DIY, putting together a piece of furniture and a fun project at the studio too! I’ve been optimising the natural light setup and creating new backgrounds and reflectors to give even more variation for all of you! I love the new grey/green background. Oskar helped me to paint it with a roller of his own so lots of love has gone into creating it. Alice played photo model for a few minutes so here you are, a few playful moments with Alice, her beautiful curls and my new studio background!…

Glad påsk! I helgen har jag med familjen spenderat en del tid i studion och fixat lite med kontroll av dagsljuset i studion samt skapat nya bakgrunder! Denna härliga grön/grå älskar jag och verkligen ser fram emot att fotografera barn, familjer och kvinnor mot den. Oskar hjälpte mig att måla den så den är skapat med mycket kärlek! Det är min Alice på bild som under några få minuter lekte lite fotomodel åt mamma!

A few days ago my family came to visit me for lunch at my studio in Tullinge (I was 1 happy mummy!). My kids were happily playing in my daylight studio so I grabbed my camera to capture their laughter and play. Everyone assumes that as a childrens photographer I must have loads of great photos of my kids! That’s just not the case. When Oskar was small I photographed him all the time so from that period I do have alot of lovely photos. But just the same as any mum, I have a lot less photos of my second child, Alice. Time just goes too fast. Photographing your own children once they know what a camera is though is the hardest thing. They usually run away. Well, at least my eldest does. I bribed him this time with a lollipop which did the trick! I had a full 5 minutes with him and Alice was so lovely playing with the small latte cups while sitting in a basket!

I love the last picture of Oskar. It was just a moment, a split second, and he was happy again. I wonder what he was thinking about.

Yesterday I photographed Alice sitting up in the long grass and blue flowers (I can never remember what these flowers are called so if somebody knows then leave a comment!). I photographed Oskar in the same place 2 years ago when he had just learnt to sit up and I was just waiting for these flowers to appear to have a similar session with Alice. Oskar had just learnt to sit up at the time and fell over a few times during our mini session, but Alice was a pro…but she has already been sitting by herself for a month already. I can’t believe she is 6½ months already! Another milestone is captured in these pictures (well the right hand photo in the second row…if you look closely)…Alice got her first two teeth last week! They both popped up on the same day just as she had a terrible cold. They are so cute! At the moment you can just about see them when she smiles wide but in a couple of weeks time they’ll be in full view I guess. Anyway, enjoy these lovely photos of my little sweetie!

Yesterday I had delivered a pair of new baby studio backgrounds and oh so exciting! This morning I had a few minutes to grab some photos of my little Alice who turned 6 months yesterday and can now sit up all by herself! Oskar joined in for a few minutes too and of course where there is Oskar there is Hunden, his little dog who was the perfct model.

I am just about fully booked now until Midsummer but if you are about to give birth and are interested in a new born session (baby less than 2 weeks old) then get in touch anyway!!!

Baby Alice is 2½ months old already!

Can you believe it? My little sweetie is already 2½ months old and Oskar is so big now! Time flies by in the blink of an eye. Alice is more awake during the days now and sleeps pretty well at night. I often get 6 hours without having to feed her! Oskar is full of charm, determination and talk… he talks all day long from the moment he wakes till the moment he sleeps, describing everything he’s doing!

Anyway, I thought I’d share a few snaps of Alice and Oskar taken 2 weeks ago and a few more taken yesterday! These photos are very nearly straight out of camera (SOOC). They have the simplest of actions applied in Lightroom and no retouching, but they are good enough to enjoy!

Nu är Alice 2½ månader redan och tiden flygar förbi alldeles för fort! Här kommer några bilder tagit av Alice och Oskar under de senaste 2 veckor.

I know I’ve been promising blogs for ages and I haven’t delivered… but I promise I’ve been busy! … giving birth! 3 weeks ago our lovely Alice arrived in the world. After regular prelabour contractions on and off for 5 weeks and a long labour Alice decided it was time at last! As they say, good things come to those who wait. She’s such a beautiful darling. Oskar loves her to pieces and just wants to hold her. He thinks it’s funny when she makes noises and says, “Hej hej Alice!” expecting a reply! So sweet! I was pretty out of it for quite a while after the delivery (photographed I should add by Juliana Wiklund) so it took me a whole 6 days to pick up a camera and I haven’t managed more since then. Heres my favourite of our delivery photos taken by juliana. Alice is just a couple of minutes old, lifted up to my chest for the first time.

Jag älskar mitt jobb som bröllopsfotograf i Stockholm och Skåne! Jag älskar barn- och familjefotografering! Denna gången visa jag bilder från min vardag med min lille kille! Kör ett presentkort till en fotosession hos mig! Det blir en perfekt julklapp!
It’s the time of year when you sit down for a nice quiet cup of tea and your mind wanders off to the topic of christmas presents and panic stikes!..well here’s a thought. How about giving a photo session for a Christmas present? This time next year with the pictures hanging on the wall your loved ones won’t have forgetten what you gave them because they’ll still be enjoying the perfect gift! You can give a gift cerificate for any amount or even a full package, just as you choose.

Did you have a shoot with me this year but wish you’d ordered a photobook or more prints? Then wish these things for yourself!!

Are you getting married next year? Then wish for gift certificates and use them to pay for your wedding photography!

Since a blog isn’t finished without a photo I thought I’d show a few that share my everyday life… pictures of Oksar! 12½ months!

He’s learnt to clap his hands and walks around very happy clapping away!

until he sees my camera and tries to get it himself!

He is usually seen with a telephone of some sort in his hands.. he knows where they all are! Recently though he likes to let me talk in the phone!

If he doesn’t have a telephone then he has a pen…and he won’t let go of it even if he’s playing with somthing else, such as the guitar hero!

And he loves to roll around and rub his face into our new fake fur blanket!

Since I am the one usually behind the camera there are not so many photos of Oskar and I together and even less of all three of us together. On top of that all of Oskars grandparents live FAR away! His Swedish half in Skåne and his English half in Germany and Kuwait! So, when my parents came to visit a couple of weeks ago I arranged for Juliana Wiklund (morethanwords.se) to photograph of my family. She took some absolutely wonderful photos of us all together which you can see on her blog here.

And on top of having such beautiful photos from Juliana, Olof and I were out for a walk today and Olof took my camera with wonderful results! (photos edited by me).

>My little darling Oskar is walking!! Not just a couple of steps but suddenly across the room! He’s been taking a few steps here and there for about 2 weeks but suddenly today… he can walk for real! He is just sooo cute! ..and only just turned 11 months old! Go Oskar!

My parents are visiting us at the moment so it’s perfect timing for them…and for our family photo shoot tomorrow with Juliana Wiklund! I took these photos just a few minutes ago so this my quickest shoot-to-blog ever!

Oskars latest from his grandparents is a baby camera! (I know! So cool!)…and he just loves it!
